Two for One!
The story of Scott Liose.
A story of personal service in dual careers at the right time…
Scott’s story may sound a bit cliché but it is true!
It’s a life of personal attention and service to others.

It’s also a story of two careers simultaneously coupled with business and volunteerism. For over 40 years a way of life for Scott was building an Awards clientele with corporate and sport organizations. Many times he would participate as a volunteer for the same related events.

Over time, the combination of sales, management, logistics, and marketing skills has allowed him the pleasure to serve over 1,200 clients related to as many as 86 countries when the time and place were right!

Born in Cleveland and relocating to Indianapolis as a child
Scott grew up following his father and uncle as they built a restaurant
franchise chain in Indiana called “Lums”. All together 17 Lums were created. Scott’s father Fred was in charge of setting up the new restaurants from day one until it was up and running and then move on to the next one.
The experience to see how things were done at such an early age afforded Scott the foundation what would be instrumental later in his career in customer relations and as much, event planning.

As early as 1979 Scott showed a passion for promotional events including an attempt at the Guinness Book of Records; the World’s Largest trophy for a local radio station’s raft race. It was then he discovered the joy of planning an event and the process to carry it out with everyone benefitting from the experience.

In high school, Scott was a member of Key Club an extension of Kiwanis which would come into play later in his professional life.
In addition, Scott acted in plays and musicals. Plus, as stage manager he had the benefit of setting up the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for rehersals.
Along with his interest in music Scott formed a love for the arts which carries on to this day. Participating in track and field rounded out a great High School experience with variety his spice of life.

It was also during this time Scott was introduced to the Awards Industry taking a part time job with Broad Ripple Trophy Center in 1975. Little did he know this would “set the stage” for the next 40 plus years. Graduating with a degree in Marketing from Indiana University armed with the additional concentrations in Finance and Art it turned out to be a perfect recipe for a career in corporate awards and promotional products. After college Scott continued his work with BRTC rising from production manager to purchasing to assisting the President. His tenure at BRTC culminated in the position of National Sales Manager.
Scott built a clientele focused on corporate and sports organizations at a local, regional, National and International level. Simultaneously, Scott paralleled his Awards job with volunteering for a multitude of events including 5K runs/walks early in his career.
As a side note, Scott did a short stint as host at a local Comedy Club.

Indianapolis began growing its desire for International recognition
as the “Amateur Sports Capital of the World”. Indiana Sports Corporation was formed, the Colts came to town, the Pacers started their climb to prominence, and the Indianapolis Indians grew strong. In addition, the cultural side of Indianapolis skyrocketed. Along with the staple of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, “Indynoplace” became a vibrant, preferred place to host sporting and cultural events. A wide range spanning from the International Violin Competition to multiple National and International sporting events. Indy arrived! The perfect city at the perfect time!
Over many years Scott continued not only growing the business but increased his participation in volunteering including the Pan American Games, NCAA Final Fours, World Championships, Olympic Trials and more. As events came to town Scott provided recognition and in many cases was personally involved on the altruistic side. During this time Scott also was active in Kiwanis International and guided his local Club as President in 1987.

In 2006 Scott joined Artistic Awards as Vice President of Sales.
Finding new opportunities in both business and volunteering, he
continued to refine his expertise in all facets of sales, planning, and leadership. Exposure to other events like large scale business meetings for Firestone Building Products, Eli Lilly, Allison Transmission and others provided another aspect to the event planning side of things.

Additionally, the responsibility of leadership also grew.

More recently Scott participated as a Pit area Zone Captain for the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, member of the local organizing committee for the Big Ten Basketball Championship, various volunteer positions at the 2012 Super Bowl, and coordinator at the Indianapolis International Airport opening to name a few. The match of recognizing achievement through awards and promotional products along with learning every facet of the planning and execution of large and small events leads us to where Scott is today as President and owner of Aware Branding LLC.
